About Bronwyn

Bronwyn is a screenwriter, director, producer, and professional actor of Inuk and white- settler descent, based in Toronto, Ontario. Bronwyn began cultivating her storytelling crafts at Straeon Acting Studios for Film & Television in 2006, and has since grown into filmmaking. In 2019, she began writing for the APTN children’s series Anaana’s Tent, where she was introduced to the Inuit television industry.

Her pandemic was transformative. Her directorial debut Mardöll, a horror short film about her haunted dollhouse, which she made entirely in quarantine, toured festivals. She directed a documentary, Just Us, about racialized muralists for StreetART Toronto. She also narrated the audiobook Happy Hour by Marlowe Granados. Her inner 21-year old party girl was ecstatic.

In Fall of 2021, Bronwyn was honoured to be selected as a Director participant in the Women In The Director’s Chair Career Advancement Module (WIDC-CAM). where she began developing It Doesn’t Show, her Inuit horror-comedy web series about the Qallupilluit (Inuit child-snatching sea monsters), for which she started her own production company, Szaboteur Films Ltd. Shot in Iqaluit and Toronto, Bronwyn wrote, directed, starred in, and produced the series. It is currently streaming on APTN+.
